# Features

What Mango Radio actually does, surface by surface.

Mango Radio is two interfaces over one radio. The **carousel** is for changing station without thinking about it; the **station browser** is for when you actually want to look. Everything else on this page exists to make those two feel like part of the car rather than part of a menu system.

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>The Carousel</strong></td><td>Tap to skip, hold to browse — without letting go of the wheel.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-radio/features/the-carousel.md">The Carousel</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>The Station Browser</strong></td><td>The angled infotainment panel, driven entirely by the keyboard.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-radio/features/the-station-browser.md">The Station Browser</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Favourites</strong></td><td>Hearted stations that survive a reconnect.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-radio/features/favourites.md">Favourites</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Now Playing</strong></td><td>Artist and song titles for over a thousand tracks.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-radio/features/now-playing.md">Now Playing</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Artwork and Colours</strong></td><td>Real station logos, with accents pulled from the artwork.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-radio/features/artwork-and-colours.md">Artwork and Colours</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>Broadcast Range</strong></td><td>Transmitter coverage, and static when you drive out of it.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-radio/features/broadcast-range.md">Broadcast Range</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

## How they fit together

| Surface           | Opened with               | Built for                      |
| ----------------- | ------------------------- | ------------------------------ |
| Carousel | Tap or hold the radio key | Changing station mid-corner |
| Station browser | The menu key | Browsing, favouriting, reading |
| Now-playing flash | Automatic, on song change | Telling you what just came on |

Both surfaces read the same station list and report to the same client state, so a change made in one is already reflected in the other before it opens. If another resource changes the station behind Mango Radio's back, both follow it.

{% hint style="info" %}
Nothing here streams audio. Every station except the [Media Player](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-radio/media-player.md) is GTA's own radio, played by the game exactly as it always was.
