# Updates

Release notes for Mango Radio.

{% updates format="full" %}
{% update date="2026-09-22" tags="optional-update" %}

## v1.1.0

**The server station behaves like a station.** Mango FM now follows the engine the way every built-in station does, and the track playing on it can be skipped.

### Fixed

* **The Media Player no longer plays with the engine off.** GTA silences its own stations the moment the engine stops, but the Media Player is the interface's own audio and was never told — so the server station kept playing over a dead engine, and could be tuned into while the engine was off. It now pauses with the engine and picks the broadcast back up when the key turns.

Because the server owns the clock, starting the engine rejoins the schedule wherever it has actually reached rather than where you left it. Sit with the engine off long enough and you come back to a different song, exactly like a real radio.

### Added

* **Track skip on the server station.** `PAGEUP` by default, rebindable per player under **Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM**.

```lua
Config.MediaPlayer.skip = {
    enabled         = true,
    key             = 'PAGEUP',
    cooldown        = 0,
    resyncOnReenter = true,
}
```

The skip is **local**, the same way vanilla self radio behaves: it moves that player onto their own run through the playlist and leaves everyone else on the broadcast. Nothing one listener does changes what the rest of the server hears.

* **`resyncOnReenter`** — decides what happens when a player who has skipped gets back into a vehicle. On `true` they rejoin the broadcast and hear whatever the station is playing now, so the server lines back up on its own. On `false` they keep their own track and carry on from where it left off.
* **`Config.MediaPlayer.requireEngine`** — on by default. Set it to `false` if you would rather the station played regardless of engine state.

### Updating from 1.0.0

Replace the resource files and restart. Nothing that was working stops working.

**You can keep your existing `config.lua`.** Both new options fall back to the defaults shipped in the new file when the keys are missing, so the engine fix applies straight away and skipping works on `PAGEUP` without you editing anything.

To retune them, copy the `requireEngine` line and the `skip` block out of the new `config.lua` into your `Config.MediaPlayer`. Both are additive — nothing else in your file needs to change.

{% hint style="info" %}
Both changes only affect the Media Player. If you run the built-in GTA stations alone, nothing in this release applies to you.
