# Carousel Appearance

Size, position, falloff, animation speed and the colour ring.

All of this is `Config.UI`.

## Size and position

```lua
CircleSizeVh = 9.5   -- diameter of the centre circle, % of screen height
PosY         = 0.13  -- vertical position, 0.0 = top, 1.0 = bottom
Scale        = 1.0   -- overall multiplier on top of CircleSizeVh
Opacity      = 1.0   -- overall opacity
```

**`CircleSizeVh` is the one to change.** Spacing, every text size and the ring thickness are all derived from it, so it scales the interface as a single unit — the labels never end up oversized next to shrunken artwork.

Because it is measured in `vh`, the result is identical on 1080p, 1440p, 4K and ultrawide.

`PosY` positions the centre line of the circles. The station name, artist and track sit **below** that line, so leave room if you move it down.

## The falloff

```lua
VisibleEachSide = 4     -- stations shown either side of centre
SpacingFactor   = 1.12  -- gap between circles, as a factor of diameter
ScaleStep       = 0.80  -- each step out multiplies size by this
FadeStep        = 0.74  -- each step out multiplies opacity by this
CenterBump      = 0.18  -- extra size on the centred station (+18%)
LogoFill        = 0.80  -- how much of the circle the artwork fills
```

`ScaleStep` and `FadeStep` are geometric — each station away from the centre is multiplied again, which is what produces the smooth vanishing effect towards the edges rather than an abrupt cut-off.

`LogoFill` is worth knowing about because several official logos carry their own solid backgrounds. If one sits too tight against the ring, lower this. Individual stations can also override it — see [The Station List](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-radio/configuration/the-station-list.md).

## Animation

```lua
TransitionSpeed = 220  -- ms for scale/opacity/position moves; lower = snappier
```

## The colour ring

The centred station's border is not white — it is a ring in that station's own two dominant colours, sweeping slowly around the rim.

```lua
RingEnabled     = true
RingSpinSeconds = 9.0   -- one full trip of the colours around
RingThicknessVh = 0.34
```

Set `RingEnabled = false` for a plain white border instead. See [Artwork and Colours](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-radio/features/artwork-and-colours.md) for where those colours come from.

## The info block

```lua
ShowEqualizer = true   -- animated bars beside the artist name
ShowHint      = false  -- "drag to browse · release to select" hint
```

The equalizer only appears when a known track is actually playing, so talk stations and adverts show the station name alone rather than a bouncing animation with nothing behind it.

`ShowHint` is off by default — useful to turn on temporarily if your players are new to the system.
