# Admin Commands

The /prison admin command family.

One command family, restricted to the ace group in `Config.Commands` (default `group.admin`). Works from in-game chat and the server console.

| Command                                | Does                                                                             |
| -------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `/prison jail <id> <minutes> [reason]` | Jail a player (displayed to them as months)                                      |
| `/prison release <id>`                 | Release a player (id or identifier)                                              |
| `/prison info <id>`                    | Number, status, cell, remaining time, behaviour                                  |
| `/prison escapes [id]`                 | What is blocking escapes right now — the server-wide cooldown, and that player's |
| `/prison escapes clear`                | Lift **every** escape cooldown, server-wide and per player                       |
| `/prison lockdown [scope]`             | Start a lockdown (default `prison`)                                              |
| `/prison unlock [scope]`               | End a lockdown                                                                   |

The server-wide escape cooldown is written to the database, so it survives a resource restart — `/prison escapes clear` is the only way to shift it. See [Escapes](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-prison/configuration/escapes.md).

Grant the permission in `server.cfg`:

```
add_ace group.admin command.prison allow
```

## Debug commands

These exist only while `Config.Developer = true` and are still ace-restricted — they move players around. [Developer Mode](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-prison/developer-guide/developer-mode.md) covers all four development switches in full.

| Command           | Does                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `/visitdemo [id]` | Runs the **prisoner half of a visit** exactly as a real visitor would trigger it — PA announcement, the **Y/N accept prompt**, the walk in through the visitation door, letterbox, countdown and the return trip — with no visitor. Defaults to yourself |
| `/visitseat` | Lists every seat in the visitation wing — both sides of each booth, then the waiting room — to the F8 console |
| `/visitseat <n>` | Sits **you** in that seat, so you can check its position, heading and animation without staging a whole visit. `/visitseat up` stands you back up. Press the focus key while seated to open the **focus-camera tuner** ([Medical & Visitation](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-prison/configuration/medical-and-visitation.md)) |
| `/editvisitfocus` | Opens the visitation **focus camera and its arrow-key tuner** wherever you are, so you can frame the shot without staging a visit. `ENTER` copies the tuned config block |
| `/setzone` | Build a zone **by walking its perimeter**: drop a point at each corner and the zone is exactly the polygon you outline — nothing outside your points. The outline draws live and closes itself; `ENTER` copies a paste-ready polygon entry, `X` undoes a point, run it again to cancel |
| `/doorinspect` | Names each ox\_doorlock door as you aim at it; **ENTER** copies its model and coordinates ([Doors & Lockdowns](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-prison/configuration/doors-and-lockdowns.md)) |

`/visitdemo` deliberately bypasses visiting hours and the lockdown gate so it always runs, and every use is written to the audit log as `visitDemo`. Decline the prompt and it reports back that the inmate refused — the same path a real visitor gets.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Two flags, two jobs:

* **`Config.Debug`** only **draws the bounds** — prison zones and target boxes render in-world, nothing else. Safe to flip on for a walk.
* **`Config.Developer`** is **developer mode**: verbose console output, `/setzone`, `/visitdemo`, `/visitseat`, `/hudtest`, the visitation focus tuner, escapes without cooldowns or cancellations — and it opens **CCTV placement to everyone** (`/prisoncam` works without the ace).

Turn **both** off before a public server, along with `Config.DevTerminal.enabled` and `Config.DoorInspector.enabled` — the resource prints reminders at boot while any of them are on.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Day-to-day corrections work — write-ups, solitary, cell moves, visit bans, announcements — is meant to happen on the [prison terminal](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-prison/features/the-prison-terminal.md), where it's grade-gated and audit-logged. The command is the admin escape hatch.
