# Police Dispatch

Escapes and riots alert police through your dispatch system — or stay in-house.

When an inmate clears the fence, or an officer hits the riot button, the outside world should hear about it. Mango Prison talks to your dispatch through a **bridge**, selected by one config value:

```lua
Config.Dispatch = 'auto'   -- 'auto' | 'mango_mdt' | 'ps-dispatch' | 'custom' | 'none'
```

| Bridge        | Behaviour                                                                                                                           |
| ------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `mango_mdt` | Creates a **real dispatch call** in [Mango MDT](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-mdt.md) — code, description, prison tag, map position |
| `ps-dispatch` | Sends a CustomAlert with a prison blip                                                                                              |
| `custom`      | Wire any dispatch in `bridge/dispatch/custom.lua` — a working cd\_dispatch example is included                                      |
| `none` | Police are **not** alerted — escapes and riots stay a corrections problem |

`'auto'` picks mango\_mdt if it's running, then ps-dispatch, otherwise none.

## What fires a dispatch

* **A completed escape** — *"10-98 Prison Break — Bolingbroke"* pinned to the escapee's last known position (`Config.Escape.policeAlert`)
* **Terminal → Emergency → Escape Alert** — 10-98 naming the declaring officer
* **Terminal → Emergency → Riot Alert** — *"10-34 Riot — Bolingbroke Penitentiary"*

{% hint style="info" %}
On-duty corrections officers **always** get their own guard alerts (rich dispatch-style notifications inside the prison) regardless of this setting — the bridge only controls whether the alert leaves the facility.
