# Moving the HUD

/dispatchhud - let every player drag the alert stack and call window where they want them.

<figure><img src="https://3694989814-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6edDnCRamvDxPx0AsLch%2Fuploads%2FitJLI1ZV2HpdrTl12HOa%2Fhud.gif?alt=media&#x26;token=faea16d2-2735-43b4-bf01-7dcde62ca9f3" alt="Each player drags the alert stack and call window wherever they like"><figcaption><p>Each player drags the alert stack and call window wherever they like</p></figcaption></figure>

```
/dispatchhud
```

Opens a layout editor with a ghost of the **alert card** and the **call window**. Drag either one anywhere on screen and press **Done**.

| Control     | Does                                               |
| ----------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| Drag a card | Move it. It cannot be dragged off screen |
| **Done**    | Save and close                                     |
| **Reset** | Clear the saved layout and go back to the defaults |
| `Esc`       | Close without saving                               |

{% hint style="info" %}
This is the **only** place in the resource that takes NUI focus. Everywhere else - alerts, the call window, notifications - is keyboard-driven and never captures the mouse or blocks input.
{% endhint %}

### Where the layout is stored

In the player's own browser storage inside FiveM, under `mango_dispatch_hud_layout`. That means:

* it is **per player and per machine**, not server-side,
* it survives restarts and reconnects,
* it costs nothing on the server - there is no database or save event,
* clearing FiveM's cache resets it to defaults.

### Opening it from elsewhere

```lua
exports['mango_dispatch']:OpenHudEditor()
```

A client export, so a settings menu or phone app can offer "Move dispatch HUD" without your players needing to know the command.

### Defaults

The alert stack sits top-right and the call window bottom-right. To change the defaults **for everyone** rather than per player, edit the positions in `web/css/style.css` - see [Styling the UI](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-dispatch/reference/styling-the-ui.md). Note that a player who has already saved a layout keeps theirs until they hit Reset.
