# Rarity and Points

Real unlock percentages, counted from your own database.

## Points

Every award carries a point value. The total across all of them is your server's maximum, shown next to each player's score in the menu header.

Repeatable awards pay their points once, on the first completion, so the maximum stays meaningful.

Points are also what the [Leaderboard](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-achievements/features/leaderboard.md) ranks players by, and they are readable from your own resources through `GetPlayerAchievements` — see [Server Exports](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-achievements/developer-guide/server-exports.md).

## Real rarity

Each row shows the true share of your players who hold that award:

> **2.4% of players have this achievement**

This is counted from your own database — the number of players who completed it, divided by **every character ever created on your server**, read from your framework's own table. It is not a number typed into a config file.

```lua
Config.GlobalStats = {
    enabled        = true,
    refreshMinutes = 15,
    minPopulation  = 10,
    playersTable   = nil,   -- nil = your framework's default
}
```

| Setting          | Does                                              |
| ---------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| `refreshMinutes` | How often the figures are recounted |
| `minPopulation` | Show 0% until at least this many characters exist |
| `playersTable`   | Override the character table name                 |

{% hint style="info" %}
On a brand new server "33% of players" would be noise rather than information, which is what `minPopulation` guards against. Below the threshold every row simply reads 0%.
{% endhint %}

Two cheap aggregate queries every fifteen minutes produce this — never per player, and never when the menu opens.

## Rarity tiers

The `rarity` on each award colours its trophy icon and description panel, and drives the trophy counters in the header. The five defaults are trophy metals, and you can add your own — see [Menu and Keybinds](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-achievements/configuration/menu-and-keybinds.md).
