# Config Files Overview

Which file holds what, and which ones reach the player.

| File                      | Holds                                                                                                 |
| ------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `config.lua` | Framework, menu, notifications, rewards, inventory, leaderboard, database, admin, trackers, detectors |
| `config/achievements.lua` | Every award definition                                                                                |
| `config/integrations.lua` | Event names for your other resources |
| `locales/en.lua`          | Every string the interface shows                                                                      |

## What reaches the player

`config.lua` and the locale file are shared, so they are downloaded by the game client. **`config/achievements.lua` and `config/integrations.lua` are server-only.**

{% hint style="success" %}
That is what makes hidden awards genuinely hidden. A hidden award the player has not earned is sent with only its id, category and point value — the name, description, icon and goal never leave the server. See [Hidden Awards](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-achievements/features/hidden-awards.md).
{% endhint %}

## Escrowed and open files

The four files above, plus the `bridge/` adapters, are left open by the escrow system. `client/`, `server/` and `shared/` are encrypted. Full list in [Escrow and Editable Files](/mango5m-docs/resources/mango-achievements/getting-started/escrow-and-editable-files.md).

## Reloading without a restart

```
/achievementsreload
```

Re-reads your award file live and pushes the change to everyone online. Stored progress is untouched.

The file is run in a sandbox first, so a syntax error leaves the running set exactly as it was rather than blanking every award. Safe to use on a busy server.

## Adding a language

Copy `locales/en.lua`, change the top-level key, add it to `shared_scripts` in `fxmanifest.lua`, and point `Config.Locale` at it. Missing keys fall back to English, so a partial translation is safe to ship.
