# Configuration

Everything Mango Notify does is driven by one config.lua — no hardcoded values.

All configuration lives in a single `config.lua` at the resource root. Every value there is a **default**: nearly all of them can be overridden per notification through the data table (see Notification Fields).

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>🧱 General Settings</strong></td><td>Position, stacking, sizing, colours, animations, durations, and queue behaviour.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/free-resources/mango-notify/configuration/general-settings.md">General Settings</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>🏷️ Types &#x26; Accents</strong></td><td>Per-type icon, accent colour, and sound — success, error, warning, info, dispatch, money.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/free-resources/mango-notify/configuration/types-and-accents.md">Types and Accents</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>🎨 Themes &#x26; Styling</strong></td><td>Shipped themes, runtime theme registration, and per-notification style overrides.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/free-resources/mango-notify/configuration/themes-and-styling.md">Themes and Styling</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>🔊 Sounds</strong></td><td>Built-in synthesized sounds, custom sound files, and volume control.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/free-resources/mango-notify/configuration/sounds.md">Sounds</a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>🎯 Prompts</strong></td><td>Answer window, stacking limit, the rebindable key slots, and action colours.</td><td><a href="/mango5m-docs/free-resources/mango-notify/configuration/prompts.md">Prompts</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
Config changes take effect on `restart mango_notify` — the NUI reads the config once at startup, so there is no per-notification config cost at runtime.
